Photodate 042020110333 Daily Photo Day11 – Frangipani
I’ve waited over a year to photograph these flowers and I still didnt get the light that I wanted to capture crisp bright images. It was late in the evening and the surrounding trees were casting long shadows over the frangipani trees. I will most definitely have to go out and do another shoot of these flowers. I just like the way they look and they photograph very well. The best thing about these flowers is that they bloom in clusters. Ive seen them in two colors, yellow and white and a pinkish lavender color and white.
This is a prime example of a great subject but bad lighting. I could have used flash but it would not give the dramatic look I want from a warm evening sun. Normally I wouldn’t even take any shots of a subject with bad lighting but I did want these flowers for another project and the shaded area evened out the light in a way that will make them useful.
